True Freedom

Julie and I pray that you are well and enjoying the incredible privilege of being in Jesus Christ.

My heart is exploding with gratitude that Jesus gave His life on the cross to save and make me a son of God. I want to tell everyone in the world, that God really does see them and loves them. That Jesus can heal and change their broken soul and that life can be good. God wants relationship with each of us. So much so, that He gave His precious and only Son Jesus as the prisoner or hostage in exchange for us. True freedom is available to everyone for the self-surrender that receives such mercy.

I know and remember clearly what it is like to be bound in the chains of sin. It was 30 years ago in the spring of 1992. I was living on eternal death row with execution and eternal punishment looming over my soul every day. But I was oblivious to spiritual reality. I remember God awakening me to my true condition and realizing that it was my sin that required Jesus to suffer and die on the cross. My sin and selfishness put Him there. I remember the overwhelming conviction. There was this tremendous love and peace that filled my soul the day I received the full pardon that the Judge of all the earth granted me. Is it not something ever so crucial, that this pardon stands open for each? Yet each only has a present moment to receive with no future moment guaranteed. What can I do to awaken other captives, that they too may receive their pardon and walk out of their prison? Let me tell you. I can do what others did for me. They asked the Holy Spirit to help them pray for me.

“Then I will pour out a spirit of grace and prayer on the family of David and on the people of Jerusalem. They will look on me whom they have pierced and mourn for him as for an only son”(Zech 12:10). This promise stands and this grace is available to us today.  Are we accessing it? God poured upon those who prayed for me His grace and power to do so.  My friends, if Holy Spirit is anything, is He not a spirit of grace (supernatural ability)? Is He not a spirit of prayer? After others prayed for me with His grace and power, I woke up and saw that it was my sin that pierced Jesus! If we are truly hooking up in prayer with Holy Spirit, we will first and foremost be crying out for the lost. That they be awakened to their sin and their dire need for the Savior. If you don’t understand what I am talking about, then sincerely ask God for this grace and spirit of prayer. The Holy Spirit will come. If we cry out for themthey will cry out to Him!

Soon, I will be on the way to AsiaWe are expecting the school and outreaches to be very dynamic this session. Please keep me in your prayers. I am having an apparent challenge with a kidney stone and pain upon standing at times. I am believing this will resolve before departing.

Julie and I thank you for your loving generosity shown toward our mission work. Together we are training up and equipping more young evangelists and missionaries this spring. They will go throughout Asia and to the surrounding  nations with good news of salvation in Jesus and with the power of Holy SpiritBecause you helped them get started, in a marvelous way you go with them! On their behalf, as well as the lost they reach, we thank you. We honor your heart’s desire that all mankind hear about and come to know Jesus. Thank you.
