God Will Do A New Thing

Hey There!

I want to give an encouraging word to you. A few months ago I was praying for a depressed and despondent man who was about my age. In my spirit I heard these words, “The middle ages don’t have to be the dark ages”. I gave him this word but I also took this word for Julie and myself. I believe God has a way for us to successfully navigate every season of life. His wisdom and creativity are always available to us. Seek and you will find!

Many people my age lose hope. Francis Frangipane said, “Any area of your life that does not glisten with hope reveals that you are believing a lie & is a stronghold of the devil”. To me this is good news because with God’s help we can destroy that lie. Jesus said, “You will know the truth and the truth will make you free”(Jn. 8:32). It’s not only the truth from scripture, but the truth about anything or any situation will make us free. It will destroy the lies and hope will return. There are times when we all feel unworthy and that we don’t measure up. I heard Steve Backlund preach that the next time you feel like God can’t use you just remember that….

Abraham was too old

Jonah ran From God

Isaac was a daydreamer

Naomi was a widow

Jacob was a liar

Job went bankrupt

Joseph was abused

Peter denied Christ (3 times!)

Moses had a stuttering problem

The disciples fell asleep while praying

Gideon was afraid

Martha worried about everything

Rahab was a prostitute

The Samaritan woman was divorced (more than once)

Jeremiah and Timothy were too young

Zaccheus was to small

David had an affair and was a murderer

Paul was too religious

Elijah was suicidal

Timothy had an ulcer

And…..Lazarus was dead!

We are not who our past says we are. We are who God says we are. There is great hope for us at whatever life stage or situation we are in. Psalms 103:5 in the Amplified Version says, “Who satisfies your mouth [your necessity and desire at your personal age and situation] with good so that your youth, renewed, is like the eagle’s [strong, overcoming, soaring!] I release encouragement and hope to you now in Jesus name!

May God’s richest blessings rest upon you Big Time,

Charley & Julie
